UNDERSTANDING GLP-1

Understand the treatment.
Build the habits around it.

General education for adults considering prescription weight-management care. Medical eligibility review is required before prescription treatment.

APPETITE & FULLNESS

What GLP-1 means

GLP-1 stands for glucagon-like peptide-1, a hormone involved in appetite and blood-sugar regulation. GLP-1 medicines act on these pathways to reduce hunger and food intake. They also slow stomach emptying and support glucose-dependent insulin release.

For eligible patients, prescription treatment can help with weight loss and maintaining that loss alongside nutrition and physical activity. Response varies; medication is not a guarantee of a particular weight or timeline.

SUPPORT BEYOND THE DOSE

What coaching adds

SlimGLO helps you organize meals, movement, skin-wellness routines, and monthly accountability around real life. Your plan emphasizes repeatable habits rather than a promised transformation.

  • Personalized nutrition education and meal planning
  • Movement and strength-habit education
  • One monthly virtual coaching check-in
  • Questions to take to your care team

SlimGLO wellness support does not replace medical follow-up. SLIMGLO START™ is $299/month and SLIMGLO MAX™ is $449/month. The listed price includes the stated medication, nutrition and lifestyle support, and a monthly wellness check-in, subject to medical eligibility and your program agreement.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE

Similar goals.
Different medicines.

Semaglutide

Semaglutide activates GLP-1 receptors. Wegovy is a weight-management brand; Ozempic is a diabetes brand with different approved uses and dosing. Brand names, formulations, and indications are not interchangeable.

Tirzepatide

Tirzepatide acts on both GIP and GLP-1 receptors. Zepbound is a weight-management brand; Mounjaro is a diabetes brand. Your clinician considers your history, treatment goals, and the specific product.

Brand names are educational references, not a statement of SlimGLO stock or medication availability. Eligibility commonly includes obesity, or overweight with a weight-related condition; your clinician makes the assessment. GLP-1 medication is not a skin treatment.

TITRATION / GRADUAL DOSE ADJUSTMENT

Start low.
Adjust with your prescriber.

Titration means gradually adjusting a medicine’s dose. Initial doses help your body adapt; they are not necessarily the long-term dose. Gradual escalation helps reduce gastrointestinal side effects. Your prescriber reviews tolerability and response before changes.

Wegovy injection: initial escalation

Weeks 1–4
0.25 mg once weekly
Weeks 5–8
0.5 mg once weekly
Weeks 9–12
1 mg once weekly
Weeks 13–16
1.7 mg once weekly

Label example for initial injection escalation, not a personal prescription. Maintenance depends on the indication and formulation. The prescriber may delay escalation if a dose is not tolerated. Oral semaglutide uses a different schedule.

Zepbound: introduction and review

First 4 weeks
2.5 mg once weekly
After introduction
5 mg once weekly
Further increases
Only as prescribed, after at least 4 weeks on the current dose

The starting 2.5 mg dose is for initiation. Subsequent dose selection depends on response and tolerability; not everyone needs the highest dose.

Your dose is a clinical decision.

Never increase, restart, switch, or combine medications using this page. Ask your prescriber about missed doses, persistent side effects, and the next review. Milligrams are not syringe “units”; confirm your exact product, concentration, and instructions before use. SlimGLO does not direct titration or provide medical monitoring.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Benefits deserve
a safety conversation.

Side effects & important risks

Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, and abdominal discomfort can occur. Review the product’s full Medication Guide with your clinician.

Important risks include pancreatitis, gallbladder problems, dehydration-related kidney injury, and severe gastrointestinal symptoms. Low blood sugar risk increases with insulin or certain diabetes medicines. Tell your clinician about all medicines and planned anesthesia or sedation.

These products carry a boxed warning about thyroid C-cell tumors in animals; human relevance is unknown. They are contraindicated with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.

Seek urgent medical care for severe or persistent abdominal pain, inability to keep fluids down, or signs of dehydration. Trouble breathing or swelling of the face or throat requires emergency help. Do not wait for a monthly coaching visit.

Women’s health & pregnancy planning

Weight-loss treatment is not appropriate during pregnancy. Discuss pregnancy plans and breastfeeding before treatment; contact your prescriber promptly if pregnant.

Wegovy labeling advises stopping at least two months before a planned pregnancy. Plan this with your clinician.

Tirzepatide can reduce oral hormonal contraceptive effectiveness. Zepbound labeling advises a non-oral method or added barrier contraception for four weeks after starting and four weeks after each dose increase. Discuss your options with your prescribing clinician.

Discuss your medical history, including digestive problems and diabetes-related eye disease, before selecting treatment.

Medication sourcing & clinical references

Compounded medicines are not FDA-approved and are not interchangeable with approved products. FDA has reported dosing errors with compounded GLP-1 injections. Confirm prescription authorization and individualized dosing instructions before use.
